Pronunciation Rules

There are various rules to follow during the communication with each other, but some rules are must to know such as-

  • Rule 1: Every word must contain one vowel.
  • Rule 2: “C followed by “e, i, or y” usually has the soft sound of “s”.
  • Rule 3: “G” followed by “e, i, or y” usually has the soft sound of “j”.
  • Rule 4: When 2 constants are joined together and form one new sound they are a consonant digraph. They count as one sound and one letter and are never separated such as “ch, sh, th, etc.”
  • Rule 5: When a syllable ends in a constant and has only one vowel, that vowel is short such as “fat, bed, fish, spot, luck”.
