What is Stress?
Stress is our body-and-mind’s response and reaction to challenging or taxing situations in our lives. It is our body’s way of reacting and getting prepared to deal with a situation and the pressures it creates.
In other words, when we encounter a situation that challenges us, our body and mind react in a certain way as a response. This response sometimes helps us get past those events and come out as victors but sometimes this response affects us adversely. This is called Stress.
Types of Stress?
There are mainly two types of Stress which is shown below-
- Good Stress
- Bad Stress
Good Stress
Good Stress is a type of Stress that refers to a limited quantity of stress that helps one keep focused and motivated to do something.
For example-: when we are going to a board examination, then we analyze that before sitting in an exam hall, we are feeling stress or tension for how our question paper will be, but still, we are self-motivated.
Bad Stress
Bad Stress is a type of Stress that refers to a ongoing and does not lower down stress. When one can’t stop worrying and is unable to do the things one normally does otherwise, it is a bad stress.
For example-: when you are not sleeping well, then you have bad stress.
Need for Stress Management
When stress becomes overwhelming and it may affects the immune system, digestive system, and excretory system, so we can take an appropriate action to control the enhanced stress for stress management.
The stress management is important for all of us, for benefits like:
- Maintaining health.
- improving mood.
- boosting the immune system.
- improving productivity.
- and many other benefits.
Stress Management Techniques
Stress management techniques are useful to reduce the physical and mental tension of a person. There are various techniques to reduce the Stress level.
- Physical Exercise-: Physical exercises help boost up the production of our brain’s feel good neurotransmitters called endorphins. During physical exercise, we only concentrates our body’s movements and forget the daily tensions. Exercises improve our sleep, which is often affected by stress.
- Sports -: Sports are also a good activity to release a huge amount of good neurotransmitters called endorphins.
- Yoga -: Yoga is a type of physical activity that brings your mind, body and spirit together to concentrate on one thing. This is also a good techniques to remove the Stress.
- Meditation-: Meditation is sitting in a relaxed position and clearing our mind of all thoughts. The mind stops following every new thought it comes across.
- Holidaying and Vacationing-: We should take a break from our daily work to forget all bad things and remove those things from our mind. So therefore, we should take a small break and go far in holidays and vacations. This is also a good technique to reduce our Stress level and regenerate or enhancing our energy level.
